Have you met Ben and Paul? Their love began with a bouquet of flowers that blossomed into a tropical garden! They first met at a Queer Jewish student conference and after a month of dating Ben sent Paul a surprise bouquet of flowers with a note asking Paul to make it official. After Paul’s first year of graduate school, they got engaged on an island. I mean how romantic! Ben and Paul got married on March 21, 2022 at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.

The Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is surrounded by lush greenery with romantic views within Miami, FL. Its enchanting beauty is a gem for tropical weddings with classic elements for Miami photographers. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden has a 100-foot aisle that leads to Glade and Royal Palm Lakes that is beautiful to capture the perfect “I do” moment. Ben and Paul wanted a tropical, classic fete bringing their own personal flair to their wedding day making the botanic gardens their ideal location.

while keeping jewish traditions, the grooms decided to introduce watercolor to their seating chart in order to create a ceremony full of love, friendship, and family

Ben and Paul incorporated classic Miami elements and added watercolor details to bring in a colorful theme! They were very intentional with every detail ensuring their guests were going to have a great time! Ben and Paul worked with their Rabbi to bring in traditional Jewish elements into their wedding all while keeping the theme of the ceremony about love, family and friendship. Making their wedding a joy to capture!

Ben describes Paul as smart, playful, strong, and driven. In fact his favorite thing about Paul is his resilience! Despite any obstacle he experiences, Paul finds a way to overcome those struggles and is always trying to find new avenues for growth. Paul describes Ben as kind, smart, playful, and generous. Paul’s favorite thing about Ben is how incredibly thoughtful and caring he is. The Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden made the perfect scenery to capture Ben and Paul’s playfulness. You can tell by the photos how in love these two are!

Traditional Jewish Ceremony at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

Surrounded by their close family and friends, Ben and Paul had their Jewish traditional signing of the ketubah. This typically takes place before the wedding in front of their officiant, witnesses, close family, and friends. Ben and Paul partnered with their Rabbi to incorporate traditional Jewish elements, like the signing of the ketubah, while maintaining a ceremony focused on their love for each other. Once the ketubah is signed, it will be read out loud at the ceremony and later be displayed in their new home!

Ben and Paul stood in front of their closest family and friends for their wedding ceremony. Their chuppah is garnished with beautiful tropical bouquets. Seeing as their relationship began with a bouquet of flowers, I can’t think of anything more fitting to symbolize the home they will build together full of love and growth. The Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden’s lake made for an incredible backdrop to capture Ben and Paul’s “I do”. When the ceremony was coming to an end, Ben and Paul both kept with Jewish tradition by breaking the glass. It was a joy hearing their attendees to congratulate them by screaming “Mozel tov”! You can truly feel the love everyone has for them

From a heartwarming first dance, to funny yet lovely speeches/toasts, and to the horah during the wedding reception, the flow of the day was one of a kind and carefree. The entire room was having a great time! It was such an amazing experience for me to capture Ben and Paul’s wedding day. Thank you Ben and Paul for picking me to be part of your tropical, classic fete! Wishing you all the love, happiness, and adventure as you continue your lives together, now, as husband and husband.
