Let’s talk about the brunch day party wedding at Bahia Mar Hotel for Jonathan and Trevor! The venue is located in “the Venice of America” Fort Lauderdale, FL and overlooks the marina. It is a beautiful beachfront getaway! The Bahia Mar Hotel is steps away from the beach and within walking distance of well-known attractions in Fort Lauderdale. After capturing their engagement, I was extremely excited for Jonathan and Trevor’s wedding!

A Surprise Holiday Proposal in Michigan

Here is how Trevor proposed! It was early in December in Michigan. It’s cold, but Trevor tells Jonathan that they are going to the Christmas tree exhibit at the local botanical gardens with some friends to take pictures. The day of, Jonathan almost decided not to go until Trevor convinced him that their “friends” really wanted to do this. The group explores the botanical gardens in search of the Japanese garden exhibit where Trevor finds a secluded area with a gorgeous view.

Trevor convinces Jonathan to come down to the area where he asks Jonathan if he would like an early Christmas gift to which Jonathan of course accepts! Inside the gift box is a bracelet with the inscription “I can’t say I do without you”. In Jonathan’s confusion, he looks up to see Trevor on one knee with another box asking him to spend the rest of their lives together. Isn’t that so romantic?! The rest, as you can see, is history.

Jonathan and Trevor have a first look in the gardens of the Bahia Mar Hotel. You can just see the excitement and anticipation these two have waiting to see each other for the first time on their wedding day! You can feel the emotion on Jonathan’s face when he feels Trevor come up behind him.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Bahia Mar Hotel

Jonathan and Trevor walked down the aisle together to meet at the altar in the courtyard of the Bahia Mar Hotel. They were surrounded by all their closest loved ones when they said their vows together. There were many happy faces in the crowd as well as some tears (happy ones of course!). Jonathan and Trevor said “I do” and shared their first kiss together as newlyweds! Everyone cheered. There was even some ribbon twirling for the support!

I love asking couples what to describe each other in a few words. It really allows me as a Miami wedding photographer to get to know them better. Jonathan loves that Trevor is very smart, kind, determined, and most of all corny. Trevor loves that Jonathan is caring, thoughtful, talented, and witty! I had such a fun time capturing them while we explored the gardens and marina of the Bahia Mar Hotel.

In the hall of the Bahia Mar Hotel, Jonathan and Trevor celebrate their reception with all their closest family and friends! Jonathan and Trevor wanted to go for a brunch day party vibe so the tables had beautiful champagne glasses with the engraving of their initials on them. Jonathan and Trevor started the celebrations with their first dance!

The room followed after with the dancing getting almost everyone on their feet moving to the music. Jonathan and Trevor played the famous Shoe Game, it was soooo much fun! I am so grateful and honored to be able to capture their special day. I want to wish you both endless love, joy, and fun memories in your next chapter together as newlyweds!!
