Kimberlin and Thomas Surprise Proposal at The Faena Hotel Miami Beach
Have you guys been to the Faena Hotel in Miami? Well, let me take you there. This beautiful surprise proposal shoot was everything and more. Thomas asked me to come along and capture the moment he proposed to his love Kimberlin! Let me set the scene. Kimberlin and Thomas met when they were both students at the University of Alabama. It took Thomas five times asking her to be his girlfriend before she said yes.
These two are just the sweetest and made for each other. Today's location is perched, overlooking spectacular white sand and turquoise waters. The Faena Hotel is an outstanding location for a proposal and photoshoot after. Thomas knew that Kimberlin always wanted to stay at the Faena, so he arranged for them to stay at the hotel. He proposed to her by the golden mammoth. And me? I was hiding behind a tree, ready to capture this epic moment. See for yourself. I love surprise proposals because I can get into photojournalism mode and capture everything as it happens.
We took some portraits at the golden mammoth! After Kimberlin could catch her breath and once Thomas introduced me. "Oh, hi, I've just been hiding over here behind a tree, spying on you!!!"
When I talked to the happy couple, in between shots, I asked them to tell me five words that described each other. TJ said that Kimberlin is caring, brave, generous, funny, and beautiful, and his favorite thing about
Kimberlin is that her personality can instantly light up a room. And Kimberlin said that TJ is witty, intelligent, compassionate, loving, and outgoing and her favorite thing about TJ is that he makes her laugh and knows her better than anyone. Their favorite things to do as a couple is traveling, watching the Alabama Crimson Tide Football Team, spending time with friends, trying new restaurants, and going on walks. I had such a great time with these two, and the photos speak for themselves. Congratulations, Kimberlin and Thomas. I wish you all happiness in your future together.
