If I could show you one engagement shoot that perfectly depicts why I am a photographer, it would be this shoot of Elizabeth and her fiancé Melroy at Espanola Way in Miami, Florida smiling and having fun on their engagement session take look for yourself. You’d instantly understand why I do what I do!
Elizabeth and Melroy met through coffee, meet bagel! He had just moved to Atlanta 2 months before their first day to start his residency. They went to Portugal for her 30th birthday last year, and it was an incredible week and one of their favorite memories. Together. The story of their proposal is super cute.
A Sunset Engagement Session at Miami Beach and Espanola Way
He told her it was “Melroy’s day,” and so they spent it doing things he loved, gym in the AM, then a pedicure (this is how he made sure she had a manicure). We walked onto the bridge and stood for a while, and he turned me around and got down on one knee when the bridge cleared up! And of course, she said yes!
When I asked them to describe each other in 5 words, here is what they said. Melroy is “thoughtful, goofy, passionate, intentional, caring.” “My favorite thing about Melroy is how he giggles when he’s told me a terrible joke, and I roll my eyes, or how he laughs to the point where his eyes are all squinty. I also love it when he’s a bit tipsy and get super talkative.”
Liz is “thoughtful, generous, beautiful, goofy, adventurous” “My favorite thing about Liz is how self-assured she is and can be herself.”
They love to eat food, try new sports, and exploring different cultures’ cuisines. They also love brewery hopping, hiking with their dog, trying new coffee shops and ice cream, tons and tons of ice cream dates (mostly because their dog begs for it.)
We did their engagement shoot at Miami Beach and Espanola Way, and wow, did we get some amazing photos. Española Way is a historic street between 14th and 15th street on Miami Beach, stretching from Washington Avenue to Drexel Avenue's western corners. Española Way is a quaint and picturesque Spanish-inspired village designed in the Mediterranean Revival style.
