Jessica & Mitchell Engagement Session at Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens
“We are all fools in love” ― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
For today’s engagement shoot we are on the 16 acres that surround Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. The stunning grounds of this museum include expansive gardens with strolling paths, resting areas, our world-class bonsai collection and lakes teeming with koi and other wildlife. This is such a great place to have an engagement shoot, so many different areas and backgrounds to choose from, everything about this place is a photographers dream. Jessica and Mitchell went to the same high school but didn’t get introduced to each other until just before they started college. They met on a night out bowling with mutual friends, they hit it off straight away. After about two months they were officially dating! The proposal was one to remember definitely. Being the joker that he is Mitchell decided to propose on April Fools day!
He told her to close her eyes, got down on one knee with a little black box. He opened the box, it was empty and he immediately said “April Fools”! He then said he actually did have a surprise and asked her to close her eyes. This time when she opened them, he was on one knee with a beautiful ring and popped the question. And yes he was serious this time! She said yes and here we are today at their engagement shoot as they plan for future lives together. What Jessica adores about Mitchell is that he is hilarious, supportive, charismatic, family-oriented, and caring. And Mitchell says of her gorgeous fiance that she is beautiful, intelligent, caring, funny, and quirky. They really are a match made in heaven. It is clear when you see Mitchell and Jessica together that they are totally smitten with each other. Always smiling, laughing and goofing around. It makes my job so much easier! It is hands down my favorite thing about my job, capturing the pure emotions between two people.
